I am a qualified teacher and am certified under the Ontario College of Teachers. For the past many years, I have been driven by the innovative uses and tools that technology can offer educators, students and life long learners. In particular, I am driven by the idea of organic, individualized and customized learning environments. To me, this is learning that takes place anytime, anywhere and by anyone. Today’s technologies and social networking tools allow people of any age, any demographic in any location to learn from each other.
We need to create environments—in our schools, in our workplaces, and in our public offices—where every person is inspired to grow creatively. We need to make sure that all people have the chance to do what they should be doing, to discover the Element in themselves and in their own way.
~Sir Ken Robinson (The Element)
As an educator, I have found my element – of providing a differentiated learning environment to meet a wide variety of learners, of understanding who my students are and what they need, and of being flexible and patient. This blog is a reflection of my journey of teaching and learning with children and adults to help them find, create, and mold their own passion.

Hi there,
I met you at the OTF09 conference. You indicated that you use Google docs with your elementary school students. Can you provide me with some ideas?
Thank you
Hi Zoe, I just read an article about you in the Hamilton Spec, I’m a radio talk show producer and I was wondering if you’d be available this afternoon to join our show for a few minutes to chat about what you do?
